Free Write 11- Beautiful Winter

The last day when I chatted with my teacher in my undergraduate school in China, she told me that the whole campus had turned to yellow!!! Winter is coming, so that all the leaves turned yellow or red, especially gingko trees! They are soooooo beautiful!

Free Write 10- Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is quite new for us. In China, there are no two days off to celebrate this festival. However, we also want to say thank you to people who helped us or people who we love.

I want to say thanks to my parents. I am their only child and they give me a lot of love. This is my second year not in company with them. I miss them soooooooo much!

Career Services Write-up

Before the career fair in October on downtown campus, I scheduled an appointment with Maryjo to help me with my resume. Maryjo is a program manager in Career Development & Placement in SPA, and she is an expert in revising resume. Since English is not my first language, some of my sentences in my resume were not correct or brief. Furthermore, I didn’t provide some detailed description of my experience.

Besides my resume, Maryjo also helped me to have a look at my cover letter. She helped to adjust my content and order to make it more clear and logical.

What are the strengths of your organization? If you were in charge of a similar organization, are there any things you would do differently?

Unlike formal local governments, I think the strengths of my organization are that the working atmosphere in the office is very easy and comfortable. Since our team is built depending on the election, the organization is temporary so that members are coming from various places. I meet other interns studying in ASU too, and I can also get in touch with high school students who are applying for college.

If I were in charge of a similar organization, I might require my subordinates more strictly. Since we are not a formal organization, we need more rules to get everybody together and I have to provide them with more opportunities to communicate with each other.
