Free Write 8- Rib Soup

Yesterday, after staying in US for three months, I felt fairly bored with eating fast food daily so I decided to make something different. It seems very appealing for me to cook a rib soup with daikon. Then, I searched the menu for it on the Internet. The menu shows the first step is to wash the ribs with water. Second, put the ribs into boiling water for a minute and add some gingers and cooking wine to improve the flavor of ribs. Third, peel the daikon and cut it into small pieces and cut some green onions, which will be used in the fifth step. Fourth, boil the ribs in the water with high fire. When it reaches at boiling point, turn fire to low and then cook for 1 hour. Fifth, after 1 hour, add daikon into the soup and cook for another 30 minutes. Finally, turn off the fire and add some pieces of green onions. After finishing these steps, I got a delicious rib soup with daikon. I ate it with rice and vegetables. Yummy!

  1. Hello Daihan,

It must be tough to go from eating fresh, flavorful foods to eating fast foods here. I find fast foods to be gross and so unsatisfying. I do like french fries and I will only eat those from In-N-Out as those are freshly cut and fried right there. Your recipe sounded really good and while I do not eat meat, I will cook this for the boys in my house. They will love this.

    :)
